Why We Need to Wear Shoes

Nothing brings the American more taken for granted comfort than our shoes. Most men have about three pairs of shoes while most American women have a closet filled with shoes that they choose from to wear depending on what outfit they’re wearing that day. Shoes were originally created as away to simply protect the human foot and then quickly became a form of self decoration.

Originally the shoe was believed to have been created because the human foot has the most, smallest and most sensitive bones in the human body.

Shoes throughout the ages of mankind have varied and been made from various different kinds of materials depending on the conditions and terrain of their developer. The earlist known shoes were actually found in Oregon and were made of tanned hyde leather. Shoes and slippers can be broken down into their various parts which all come together to make the whole.

The parts of the shoe are the sole, insole, outsold, midsole, heel, vamp and lateral. There are many different types of shoes all designed for different designated purposes and terrains. Dress shoes are typically aimed towards more formal events as to where casual shoes are designated more for sports activity or simple activities outdoors. Some shoes are designed specifically for men such as the loafer while others were designed with woman in mind such as high heels. Others are unisex. Unisex shoes include, clogs, platforms, moccassins, sandals, slip on shoes, boat shoes, boots and various kinds of slippers.

Shoes and slippers in general are designed not only to protect the human foot but to give comfort to it. Shoes and slippers throughout the ages have gone through as many changes and evolutions as fashion itself. All the way from the once extremely popular platform shoes to the sneakers and tennis shoes of now. When you come home from work or school more often than not you’ll leave those regular shoes at the door and go strait for your slippers shoes. Slippers were designed specifically with extra comfort in mind. Being designed specifically for the indoors they don’t add much in the way of protecting feet, but they do add a whole lot in the way of comfort and mobility. While shoes are designed to protect your feet from the harsher elements outside that would hurt to step on barefoot, slippers are designed to create the most comfort for your feet when you get home after a day of work or school. Shoes and slippers have protected and comforted the feet of people for years and will continue to for years to come. Various shoes are made of various different materials, the most popular of which being leather, while slippers are typically made of cotton or softer fabrics to add an extra amount of comfort to sore feet after your day. As to where shoes were made to protect and keep the elements out, slippers were made to comfort and keep the warmth in. Shoes protect and comfort our feet, always have and always will.
